You are entitled to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” for the cost of medical care.

Healthcare providers are required by law to give un-insured or out-of-network patients an estimate of pricing for their medical services.

Your total cost of services will depend upon the number of sessions you attend, your circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, at least one business day before your appointment. As a patient, you are entitled to ask healthcare providers for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling a visit or service.

If you receive a bill that is more than $400 over your Good Faith Estimate, you are allowed to dispute the charge. In case issues arise, be sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For more information on your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.CMS.gov/nosurprises, call CMS Boston Regional Office at (617)-565-1188, or call the No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059
